SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

CLUB DEMO: SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

1. Purpose & Scope

This policy ensures that all members, volunteers, and staff at Club Demo use social media in a way that protects the reputation of the club and the well-being of its members. It applies to all platforms (e.g., Facebook, X, Instagram, WhatsApp) and covers both official club accounts and personal accounts when discussing club matters.

2. General Principles

  • Respect: All communications should be respectful and professional. Do not post content that is offensive, discriminatory, or intimidating.
  • Accuracy: Ensure that any information shared about Club Demo is accurate and authorized.
  • Privacy: Never share personal details, addresses, or private information of other members without their express consent.
  • Think Before You Post: Remember that social media is public and permanent. If you wouldn't say it in person at the club, don't post it online.

3. Standards of Conduct

  • Zero Tolerance: Use of social media to bully, harass, or victimise any member of Club Demo is a breach of the club's core policy and will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter.
  • Representation: Unless authorised, do not speak on behalf of Club Demo or use the club’s logo in a way that implies official endorsement of personal views.
  • Conflict Resolution: Do not use social media to air grievances or resolve disputes. These should be handled through the club’s formal or informal complaint procedures.
  • Safeguarding: When posting photos of club activities, ensure you have the permission of those featured (or parental consent for minors).

4. Personal vs. Professional Use

While we respect the privacy of members' personal lives, your online conduct can reflect on Club Demo. If you identify yourself as a member or official of the club, your posts must not bring the club into disrepute or breach our Anti-Bullying and Harassment policies.

5. Monitoring and Compliance

  • Club Demo reserves the right to monitor official pages and request the removal of content that violates this policy.
  • Reporting: If you see content online that concerns you or breaches this policy, please report it to a Club Officer immediately.
  • Consequences: Breaches of this policy may lead to disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of membership/employment.

6. Summary for Members

  1. Be Kind: No bullying or harassment.
  2. Be Private: Do not share others' data or photos without permission.
  3. Be Professional: Keep club disputes off public forums.
