Club Demo: Room Hire Policy

To ensure the club remains a sustainable community hub, Club Demo offers its facilities for private functions and corporate events. This policy outlines the terms and conditions to ensure our green and clubhouse are respected while providing a great experience for hirers.


1. Booking Categories

We offer different rates and priority levels based on the nature of the event:

  • Member Rate: Discounted hire for current financial members (personal use only).
  • Community/Non-Profit: Standard rates for local schools, charities, and community groups.
  • Commercial/Corporate: Full rates for businesses and private parties (weddings, birthdays, etc.).

2. Facilities & Capacity

The following areas are available for hire:

  • Main Function Room: Capacity of 120 people. Includes tables, chairs, and integrated AV system.
  • Kitchen: Available for licensed caterers or self-catering (subject to a cleaning bond).
  • The Bar: Must be staffed by Club Demo personnel. Under our Club Premises Certificate, we adhere strictly to UK licensing laws.
  • The Green: Barefoot bowls can be added to any room hire (maximum 8 people per rink).

3. Fees and Bonds (2026 Rates)

Note: A minimum hire period of 3 hours applies to weekend bookings.


4. Terms and Conditions

Alcohol and Licensing

  • Licensing Act 2003: Club Demo operates under a Club Premises Certificate. Alcohol is supplied only for consumption on the premises.
  • No BYO: Under no circumstances is "Bring Your Own" alcohol permitted. All drinks must be purchased from the bar.
  • Challenge 25: We operate a strict Challenge 25 policy. Valid ID (Passport or Photo Driving Licence) is required.

Noise and Decor

  • Noise Curfew: Music must be kept to a reasonable level to respect our neighbours. All music must cease by 11:00 PM.
  • Decorations: No glitter, confetti, or "blue-tack" on painted surfaces. No fixings (nails/screws) allowed.

Green Protection

  • The bowling green is the club's most valuable asset.
  • Footwear: Flat-soled shoes, socks, or bare feet only. No heels or heavy treads.
  • Strict Rule: No food or drink is to be taken onto the green or the surrounding bank at any time.

5. Cancellations & Payments

  • Deposit: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the date.
  • Full Payment: The balance and security bond must be paid 14 days prior to the event.
  • Cancellations: If cancelled within 7 days of the event, the full hire fee is retained by the club.

6. Health & Safety

The hirer is responsible for the conduct of their guests. Any external contractors (e.g., DJs, Bouncy Castles, or outside Caterers) must provide a copy of their Public Liability Insurance (minimum ยฃ5m) and PAT testing certificates for electrical equipment before the event.
