Regardless of the shot type played, the final score of an end is determined by Law 40. Once all bowls have been delivered and have come to rest, the number of "shots" is agreed upon by the players or determined by an umpire. A "Split" shot, which aims to dislodge multiple opponent's bowls simultaneously, can drastically alter the final count. It is important to note that under Law 37, if the head is accidentally displaced by a player or outside influence before the score is agreed, specific protocols must be followed to reset the equipment or declare the end dead. Accurate shot execution combined with an understanding of the laws ensures the integrity of the competitive result.
